FAQ

Gavin Marsh creates jewellery by hand in a studio located at Salomons Estate in Tunbridge Wells. None of the work is outsourced and sent overseas. Unlike many others who design their jewellery pieces and send them off elsewhere for the better economy of their business, the jewellery you create with us is made in one place. Gavin dedicates his own time and skills to creating each piece which means you can be sure that the jewellery is handled with care and with high-quality standards using precious metals and stones. Supporting local business like The Diamond Setter means you are supporting local talents and supporting the environment as we have lesser carbon footprint than imported and mass produced jewellery. Local businesses are the backbone of the economy and it is more crucial now than ever to patronize our own talents and our own craftsmanship.

All our jewellery pieces are handmade to order our atelier in Tunbridge Wells, England. We do not stock any pieces and each piece is made to order. Silver pieces requires 1-3 days and gold pieces requires 1-3 weeks. Most of the time, orders are accomplished earlier than this time frame. All orders are Final Sale and not eligible for return. Please check the terms and condition for our returns policy.

All our jewellery pieces are hallmarked to ensure they have passed under the UK Compulsory Hallmark. Some exemptions are silver pieces under 7.78 grams, gold pieces under 1.0 grams and platinum under 0.5 grams. Find out more about hallmarks here.

The Diamond Setter works with precious metals such as silver, white, yellow and rose gold as well as platinum. Read our guide to precious metal here.

We will be launching our ceremonial range in the near future. In the meantime, we welcome all bespoke enquiries and we will help you from conceptualisation, design and if you wish to be part of the making, you can also sit on our bench and be part of the creation of your memorable and unique piece.

We currently do not offer any type of plating services. We only use precious solid metals.

All our jewellery pieces can be customised. If you have a particular request that is not on our website, please do get in touch. We are more than happy to assist in any bespoke work and will work with you from the conception to delivery.

Please check that you placed the stones within the jewellery piece and at least 1mm away from the edges and away from the other stones. If you continue to experience problems, please let us know and we will be happy to assist. Email us at customercare@thedisamondsetter.co.uk.

All orders will require signature upon delivery. Please bear this in mind when giving your delivery address.

A simple warm water and mild dish soap will achieve light cleaning. For a deeper clean, use an ultrasonic or ask your local jeweller to assist. Store your jewellery in its original packaging and ensure they are dried properly if you clean them at home. Perfume, chlorine and cleaning products can cause damage and tarnish your jewellery so we recommend protecting your jewellery pieces from these elements. Our full jewellery cleaning guide is here.

Items eligible for returns should be new, unused and comes with tags still attached and undamaged. Failure to adhere to this guidance, can result to non acceptance and refused refund. All items on sale and using The Diamond Setter credit, are final and are not eligible for returns. All items returned should carry a return merchandise number, otherwise, the item will be returned to sender.

For orders shipped outside of the UK, the recipient is responsible for any taxes or custom duties incurred. We are unable to mark the package as gifts or no commercial value. Please contact your local custom office to get an idea of how much taxes and duties you may need to pay.
